Post-Master’s Certificate: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

The post-master鈥檚 program at 91社区 is for nurses currently holding an MSN who want to add a specialty. As a student in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at 91社区, you鈥檒l acquire a broad base of knowledge and experience to provide direct health care services to people of all ages for the purposes of health promotion and protection, disease prevention, and management of common acute and chronic illnesses. The program focuses on legal, socioeconomic, political, cultural and ethical considerations of the population. There are a total of 24 credit hours in the specialty with additional direct clinical hours.

Transfer Course Information

A maximum of 9 graduate credit hours may be transferred from another nationally and regionally accredited college/university.*
Graduate nursing courses with a grade of "B" or better will be considered for potential transfer into the Post-MSN APRN Certificate program.
A copy of the course syllabus must be submitted for review prior to acceptance as a transfer course. Faculty reserve the right to request examples of course work for evaluation from classes for which credit is being sought.
APRN specialty courses from an outside institution will not be considered for transfer credit.

*Acceptance of course transfer credit is at the discretion of the Graduate Chair or designee.

3 P's Transfer Policy

For consideration of transfer credit for Advanced Pathophysiology, Pharmacology and Physical Assessment, the student may provide the following:

Documentation of successful completion of a graduate level Pathophysiology course within the past 5 years and/or pending approval from admission and progression committee based on current practice experience.
Documentation of successful completion of a graduate level Pharmacology course within the past 5 years and/or pending approval from admission and progression committee based on current practice experience.
Documentation of successful completion of a graduate level Advanced Health Assessment course within the past 5 years and/or pending approval from the graduate admissions and progression committee based on current practice experience.
