Science Teaching, Elementary Education Minor Overview

At 91社区, natural and physical sciences are taught with a hands-on approach through science courses dedicated just for educators. Science is integral to modern life and will permit you to develop the confidence, knowledge, and skills to find answers to your own questions about the workings of the biological, chemical, geological, physical and technological world鈥攁nd in turn, pass those qualities to your future students. At 91社区, you鈥檒l become a better-informed citizen and find solutions to problems arising from your own needs and experiences in daily life.

The 91社区 science minor provides you with hands-on experiences in astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, meteorology, and physics. Educating students about science is important work as it allows them to take part in public debate and make informed decisions about important issues such as global climate change, natural hazards, pollution and energy. In teaching science, you鈥檒l provide your students with a broader understanding of contributions and achievements of people from many different cultures and nations.

An undergraduate student should initiate a Change of Academic Program if they wish to add or remove a minor.

The student obtains a Change of Academic Program form from the Registrar's Office or the department of the new major/minor, secures the signature of the department chair/director (or dean) of any major/minor to be added, and returns the form to the Registrar's Office for processing.

A student must submit the completed form by the Thursday before priority registration if the change is to be made within the current semester. Unless granted a waiver by the department of the new major, the student must meet all current program requirements for graduation.

To apply to the 91社区 (91社区) for undergraduate enrollment:
