Direct to Major, 5 Engineering Programs

Students can major in their engineering program of choice if they meet university requirements to be an enrolled student. Engineering programs include engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, and mechanical engineering. Engineering (BSE) majors can choose between five emphasis areas: civil, electrical and computer, industrial and manufacturing, mechanical, and mechatronics. Another program offered is manufacturing engineering technology, a 4-year course of study in engineering technology.

A record number of students are enrolled in graduate programs at the 91社区 - 1,886, an increase of 1.7% over 2023. From students who听just finished their bachelor's degree, to parents coming back to school, or those in the workforce looking to enhance their skills, 91社区's School of Graduate Studies and Online and Adult Learning Department are committed to providing learners the support they need to obtain new credentials in high-demand disciplines including business, healthcare, education, leadership and others. With 100% online coursework offered in 26 programs, busy adults can complete their coursework when and where they need to and at their own pace.

In the Romain College of Business, students have the opportunity to leverage state-of-the-art technology in unique ways to build market-leading competencies. Pulitzer Prize to Poet Laureates - Southern Indiana Review

The Southern Indiana Review听(SIR)听presents a cross-section of emerging and established artists and writers whose work is听national in scope and degree of recognition. SIR is a nationally recognized treasure in the literary world that just so happens to call the 91社区 its home. Writers submit their work to SIR each year with hopes of being one of only a select few to be published. SIR has published work from Adam Johnson, 2013 Pulitzer Prize winner, and Ada Lim贸n, Poet Laureate, and many other prize-winning writers.听In 2020, Matthew Graham, 91社区 professor of English emeritus, was named the Indiana Poet Laureate by the听Indiana Arts Commission. Graham published in SIR in the inaugural issue in 1994. Students in the听Literary Editing and Publishing Minor听at 91社区 have the unique opportunity to work for SIR and help with selection, layout and production of the journal each semester. This opportunity prepares students to successfully pursue careers in literary publishing.

Undergraduate to Doctorate Programs Enrolling Now

The 91社区鈥檚 Teacher Education program offers undergraduate degrees in early childhood education, elementary education and special education; master鈥檚 degrees in education (MSE) in curriculum and instruction, secondary mathematics teaching and educational leadership and administration; and doctoral degrees in education (EdD) in school district administrative leadership specialization, pedagogical leadership specialization and higher education administrative leadership specialization. 听

100% Job Placement for Respiratory Therapy Class of 2023

The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT) at the 91社区 is the only accredited BSRT program in the region. Expert faculty provide sound instruction and resources to enable students to develop the knowledge, skills, attitude and critical thinking necessary to become successful and competent respiratory therapists. Our graduates are poised to not only enter the workforce, but also to assume leadership roles. Historically, the majority of 91社区 graduates accept respiratory therapy positions prior to graduation. Only Accredited BFA in the Region

The new Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) at the听University of听Southern听Indiana is the first and only accredited BFA in the region. This program will give students who want to stay within a 99-mile radius of Evansville the opportunity to pursue the professional-level art degree that allows students to dive deeper into their area(s) of concentration and build stronger portfolios in preparation for either the work force or graduate school. 91社区 and the College of Liberal Arts Department of Art and Design are currently accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), and now the BFA program is also accredited. NASAD provides the framework and standards for curriculum, safety and assessment that are vital to a multifaceted academic unit like an Art and Design Department.听

At the close of the 2023 Fall semester, 266 student athletes maintained a cumulative 3.0+ GPA, with 36 of those students earning a 4.0. Since moving to Division 1 and the听Ohio Valley Conference听several 91社区听teams have听been recognized for their academic听achievements. In the听,听Screaming Eagles stood out in the OVC, earning the league's Institutional Achievement Award. The honor is presented to the institution with the greatest percentage of eligible student athletes that earn a 3.25 grade point average (GPA) or higher for an academic year.

Top 5% Nationally Nursing Program

91社区鈥檚 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is in the top 5% in the country when comparing pass rates for graduates taking the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX庐) for the first time, according to a 2023-2024 report from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). Additionally, in the state of Indiana, 91社区 is ranked second based on percentage of graduates passing the NCLEX on their first attempt.

鈥淭he NCLEX is the exam required to become a registered nurse (RN). The most recent听NCSBN听report demonstrates that 91社区 students鈥� NCLEX scores in most of the exam categories were above the national and state average. The 91社区鈥檚 Pre-Professional program has produced over 500 medical professionals, determined by matriculation in professional school. This includes students who studied pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-chiropractic, pre-optometry, pre-physician assistant, pre-pharmacy, pre-occupational therapy, pre-physical therapy, pre-veterinary and medical laboratory science. The program also offers Indiana鈥檚 first pre-medical sciences certificate which allows students to pursue any major while still meeting the criteria to apply to professional school. Students work with experienced faculty in small classes to get the preparation needed to reach the graduate school and professional objectives in the medical fields.

According to the 91社区's Fall 2023 Census Report, approximately 28.59% of 91社区 Students are age 25 or older. To facilitate this growing population, the institution established the Center for Adult Learner Success. Our award-winning student-run radio station 鈥淭he Spin 95.7鈥� has won 99 national awards, six local awards and 247 total awards since 2002 from Broadcast Education Foundation Festival of Media Arts, College Broadcasters Inc. National Student Production Awards, Indiana Association of School Broadcasters College Competition, Indiana Society of Professional Journalists Awards and the Evansville Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. 91社区's Radio and Television major prepares students for the media industry by providing a foundation in media production, analysis and theory, along with hands-on training in creating, editing and producing digital media. Students learn how to produce and distribute audio and video programs and receive on-air experience.

The 91社区 offers over 100 opportunities in more than 60 countries around the globe to study in another country for a summer, a semester or a year. With advance planning, it is possible for students in virtually any major to participate in an overseas program. Programs offer a variety of experiences, from specialized courses taught entirely in English to direct enrollment in the foreign university. 100% Pass Rate

Nursing NCLEX庐 鈥� Dental Hygiene 鈥� Respiratory Therapy

Nursing leaders at the 91社区 report that all 78 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students who graduated in May 2023 and took the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX庐) in June and July have passed on their first attempt. The NCLEX is an exam required to become a registered nurse (RN), and 91社区鈥檚 100% pass rate is over 12% above the year-to-date national pass rate of 87.6%, according to second quarter statistics from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). In addition to Nursing, the Respiratory Therapy Class of 2023 achieved a 100% pass rate on the NBRC Therapist Multiple Choice (TMC) exam, and the Dental Hygiene Class of 2023 achieved a 100% first attempt pass rate on all four licensure examinations.
