Bronstein Center Launches Online Support Group for Dementia Care Partners
The 91社区 Bronstein Center for Healthy Aging and Wellness is partnering with Teepa Snow鈥檚 Positive Approach to Care庐 to offer a free online care partner support group designed for informal/family caregivers of people living with dementia. The sessions will be led by Carolyn Lukert, a PAC certified independent consultant, trainer and coach, and will include video clips with dementia expert Teepa Snow, interactive activities, discussions and caregiver resources. The Fall Session will be held at 7 p.m. CDT on five consecutive Mondays, October 7 through November 4.
Each weekly session will build upon the previous topics discussed:
- Understanding and Accepting Dementia
- Common Brain Changes and Supportive Techniques
- Sensory Changes: Increasing Awareness and Understanding Impact
- Person-Centered Problem Solving
- Techniques to Reduce Distress
Sessions will be facilitated via Zoom. Participants are required to connect a device with a camera and a microphone. To maintain confidentiality, sessions will not be recorded.聽
The dementia caregiving series will repeat in Spring 2025 at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 18 through April 15, 2025.
