With a major in Visual Art Education, you will simultaneously minor in the P-12 Teaching Education Certificate. The major prepares you for the specifics of teaching art in the P-12 setting and the minor explores in teacher education with a Clinical practice provides practical experiences in the field and opportunity to integrate theory into practice. As part of your art teaching major, you will work in innovative labs and modern studios, to explore and understand different artistic techniques and concepts while developing your own individual artistic style. You will develop an academically rich foundation of art theory and art history, which you will be able to pass on to your students. Visiting artists, designers, and scholars allows students to have impactful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
