91社区鈥檚 photography program trains you in the art and science of image creation, while exposing you to historical and contemporary trends in artistic, commercial, and documentary photography. 91社区鈥檚 photography program will give you an academically rich foundation of art theory and art history. Working in our state-of-the art labs and studios, students can explore and understand different photographic techniques and concepts while developing their own individual artistic style.
The credit hours from your selected minor will be added to your major and core required credit hours. Check with your advisor to see if you have the required credits to graduate.聽
An undergraduate student should initiate a Change of Academic Program if they wish to add or remove a minor.
The student obtains a Change of Academic Program form from the Registrar's Office or the department of the new major/minor, secures the signature of the department chair/director (or dean) of any major/minor to be added, and returns the form to the Registrar's Office for processing.
A student must submit the completed form by the Thursday before priority registration if the change is to be made within the current semester. Unless granted a waiver by the department of the new major, the student must meet all current program requirements for graduation.
The real-world experience of internships and working with faculty who are professional designers and practicing artists allows you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the photography world prior to graduation. You鈥檒l have the opportunity to practice your skills in on-campus jobs, making photographs for the University Photography and Multimedia team, Creative and Print Services, the Shield newspaper, the University Archives and Special Collections and special projects with individual faculty and sports teams. International travel opportunities and visiting artists/designers (Stephen Pace, Martha Grover, Judy Chicago, Judy Baca, Barbara Earl Thomas鈥攖o name a few) allow you to step outside of the classroom for impactful learning opportunities.
