German Teaching Concentration Overview

The P-12 German teaching concentration prepares you with language and cultural skills as well as teaching methodologies to become an effective German teacher. From the start, you can enroll in a practicum at a local elementary after-school program, teaching German. In addition, you can combine your teaching licensure with a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate to enhance your marketability. All of your courses are taught by highly qualified PhD faculty. You鈥檒l be able to practice your oral skills in the Miller Language Laboratory, staffed by native/near-native language tutors. 91社区 offers international language events, guest speakers, language clubs and honor societies. 91社区 highly encourages teaching majors to study abroad at one of 91社区鈥檚 partner institutions (same as on-campus tuition costs). Scholarships are also available to German students.
