Application Guidelines

Proposals must be submitted to the Chair of the Faculty Affairs Committee.

All full- and part-time faculty in the Romain College of Business are eligible to submit proposals for the Community-Based Engagement Fellowships.

Recommended Proposal Outline

  1. Title Page
  2. Project Summary (not to exceed 150 words)
  3. Project Description (not to exceed 3 single-spaced pages)
    • Identify Community Issue/Priority and Objectives of the Proposed Project
    • Project Design
    • Significance (e.g. if the objectives of the proposed project are achieved, how will this project benefit the local area/community?)

Criteria for Selection

  1. Likely impact on the local area/community
  2. Feasibility of the proposed project
  3. Willingness to share insights from the project in a public forum within one year following receipt of a fellowship

Application Guidelines

Proposals must be submitted to the Chair of the Faculty Affairs Committee.

The Bussing-Koch Faculty Research Fellowship and the Romain College of Business Faculty Research Fellowship will be awarded to full-time, tenure-track faculty members within the Romain College of Business at 91社区.

The fellowship recipient will be selected on the basis of a proposal competition.

Recommended Proposal Outline

  1. Title Page
  2. Project Summary (not to exceed 200 words)
  3. Project Description (not to exceed 3 single-spaced pages)
    • Objectives of Proposed Research
    • Significance/Value of Proposed Research
    • Description of Proposed Research Methodology
    • Planned Publication(s)

Criteria for Selection

  1. Importance of Proposed Research
  2. Promise of Publication in Refereed Journals (also included is the potential significance of the research, appropriateness of research methodology, and past record of publications)
  3. Willingness to present the proposed research in a public forum within one year following receipt of the fellowship
  4. The recency of a research fellowship received by an applicant

Recommended Proposal Outline

  1. Title Page
  2. Project Summary (not to exceed 150 words)
  3. Project Description (not to exceed 2 single-spaced pages)
    • Goals and Rationale for the Proposed Project
    • Description of the Proposed Project
    • Identify Connection(s) between the Proposed Project and Student Learning Outcomes Assessment
    • Description of "Success Criteria;" (i.e. how will it be determined whether the proposed project, once completed, has been successful?)

Criteria for Selection

  1. The congruence between the goals and rationale of the proposed project and the听guiding principles听of the Romain College of Business
  2. Potential for success
  3. Likely impact on students and the curriculum
  4. Willingness to share insights from the project in a public forum within one year following receipt of a fellowship
