Dental Assisting Programs

The dental assisting program offers a certificate in dental assisting and an associate of science degree with a major in dental assisting. The certificate program requires eight credit hours of prerequisite course work prior to the one academic year (two semesters) of the program. Upon successful completion of the program, the student receives a Certificate in Dental Assisting which qualifies the student to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board Certification Examination. A second year of study enables students to earn an associate of science degree with a major in dental assisting.

Core 39

In addition to the departmental degree requirements, undergraduate students must complete the University Core 39. Our core provides the foundation for all baccalaureate degrees at the 91社区. A university education prepares individuals to live wisely in a diverse and global community by helping students acquire both discipline-specific competence and broader knowledge and skills that reach across disciplines. Program Information

The program accepts 24 students annually from approximately 40 applications received by a March 1 deadline. Selection for the fall semester happens once a year in May. There are no interviews as part of the application process. Acceptance notifications are sent out by June of the application year.

Applicants need a minimum 2.5 GPA, submit official academic transcripts and must complete the following prerequisites: Rhetoric & Composition I, Introduction to Speech and Medical Terminology.聽
