Culminating Experience

The 91社区 Health Administration and Community Health program provides experiential learning opportunities to students throughout the tri-state area and beyond.

Students begin by taking HP 475: Professionalism in Healthcare to prepare for acute care, post-acute care or community-based experiential learning.

Experiential Learning

Internship

The 91社区 Career Success Center works closely with students to assess their learning goals and career interests, helping them secure internships that will enhance their skills and broaden their career options. Experiential learning opportunities offer 3 credit hours (150 hours of community-based learning).

Capstone

Students currently working in healthcare or public health may choose to complete the online capstone if they do not need an internship or residency.

Administrator-in-Training (AIT)

Students interested in post-acute care will have the opportunity to complete the AIT option, which counts for 12 credits or 1,040 hours of practical experience in a long-term care facility over the final two semesters. Upon completion of the AIT experience, students qualify to sit for the Indiana State Board of Health Facilities Administration (HFA) and the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) licensing exams.
