Management Overview

Management is an essential component of all businesses and organizations. As a management major, you will learn to set organizational goals and allocate human, financial, physical, and information resources to achieve those goals; as well as coordinate work among members of an organization, provide leadership and motivation, and monitor progress toward organizational goals. 91社区鈥檚 management majors can individualize their study to fit their career goals, choosing general management, human resource management, or innovation management. You鈥檒l find that 91社区鈥檚 AACSB-accredited management program offers students many special opportunities that may not be found at other universities. You鈥檒l participate in class projects that solve issues presented by area businesses and organizations and you鈥檒l be able to participate in business and management simulations. You鈥檒l benefit from small class sizes, with personal attention both inside and outside of class from faculty who are committed to your success.

The Romain College of Business has earned accreditation from AACSB, which is considered the "gold standard" for business accreditation. Only 5.7% of business schools, globally, have earned that accreditation. Achieving accreditation is a multi-year process of rigorous internal focus, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor and peer-reviewed evaluation. Schools must develop and implement a plan to align with accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.聽聽

Alexa Bueltel, Management '16 -- Talent Acquisition Specialist at Faegre Drinker

"I enjoyed my time at 91社区, and the Romain College of Business played an integral part in my experience. From the small class sizes to the fantastic professors, I could not have asked for a better academic program. I definitely felt very supported in the classroom, and it helped set me up for success in my career. I wouldn't be where I am today without the foundation the Romain College of Business gave me."

Justin Norris '20 -- Telecom & VoIP Operations Lead at CenterPoint Energy

"Take any opportunity you can to get internships or other positions to get you closer to your end goal. Often, that experience and the connections made from it will be as valuable or more than your degree. Also, don't be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them - one who does more and learns from it is more valuable than one who does nothing at all."

Kennedy Williams '23 -- North American Ordering Analyst at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana

"I chose a major in Management because I knew it would be beneficial to me, no matter the career I chose. A Management major would show future employers that I have a diverse background and skills in business, but I can also be a leader in the workplace."
