Mission

The History Department supports 91社区's mission of creating an engaged learning community advancing education and knowledge, enhancing civic and cultural awareness and fostering partnerships through comprehensive outreach programs. We prepare individuals to live wisely in a diverse and global community by teaching students to understand, analyze and interpret the past, evaluate critically the ways in which the past shapes the current world and develop the skills that allow them to communicate their knowledge and ideas effectively. Faculty activity promotes regional, national and global historical discovery, which is shared with students and the broader community through teaching, scholarship and participation in activities designed to increase general interest in history and broaden understanding of past human activity.

Vision
